🔹 The Event Fund

The Event Fund powers Mindroot’s front-line presence — the moments that bring people together, spark awareness, and build collective memory. This fund supports the organisation, delivery, and impact of in-person and virtual events designed to engage the public, raise consciousness about dementia, and unite communities around prevention.

From student-led charity evenings to interactive community exhibitions, our events are the beating heart of Mindroot’s outreach. They give faces and voices to a cause that is often silent — and they create shared spaces where education, empathy, and hope collide.

Your donation to this fund brings these experiences to life. Whether it’s a youth-led fundraiser or a regional brain health expo, your support helps us craft events that inform, inspire, and empower.

🔹 How Your Donation Is Used

Donations to the Event Fund are allocated directly to the planning, execution, and promotion of Mindroot events across the UK. Here’s how each £100 is typically spent:

🔸 1. Awareness & Charity Events – 50% of all donations

These events are hosted in schools, sixth forms, youth centres, and community halls, and include:

  • Mindroot Memory Nights – student-organised social events (e.g. open mics, art shows, film screenings) that raise awareness and funds for dementia prevention.
  • Community Challenge Days – wellness-focused charity events that promote dementia risk reduction through collective action (e.g. group walks, brain games tournaments, or digital detox challenges).
  • Venue hire, audio-visual equipment, insurance, and printed materials are all covered through this fund.

🔸 2. Creative Engagement Projects – 30% of all donations

We believe memory deserves creativity. These donations enable us to design unique, immersive experiences that connect people emotionally to dementia awareness:

  • The Forget-Me-Not Installation Series – rotating visual exhibits curated by young people, exploring memory, identity, and the lived experience of dementia. Installed in schools, libraries, and community spaces.
  • Mindroot Pop-Up Booths – at youth festivals and mental health fairs, where participants can take the “Cognitive Challenge”, scan QR codes for brain tips, or pick up prevention kits.
  • Materials include branded displays, 3D printed artefacts, portable speaker systems, and activity cards for attendees.

🔸 3. Outreach, Logistics & Volunteer Support – 20% of all donations

This includes all the behind-the-scenes work that makes events run smoothly and safely:

  • Travel costs and lunch stipends for Mindroot Ambassadors volunteering at events
  • Printing and distributing event packs and donation forms
  • Training youth hosts to facilitate sessions, answer dementia-related questions, and gather community feedback
  • Volunteer badges, branded lanyards, and safeguarding materials (e.g. policies and reporting info for schools and community venues)

🔹 Annual Impact Goals (2025–26)

Your donation to the Event Fund will support:

  • 25+ community and school-based events, including Memory Nights, Challenge Days, and speaker forums
  • 3 large-scale Mindroot Exhibitions featuring student-curated visual installations on dementia and memory, open to the public
  • Outreach booths at 5+ youth mental health festivals and educational fairs
  • Engagement of over 6,000 people in direct event-based awareness activity across England and Wales

🔹 Transparency and Reporting

Every donation is tracked through:

  • Event Recap Reports, including photos, participant feedback, and spending summaries
  • Public event calendars and maps, updated in real time on mindroot.org
  • Available breakdowns of cost-per-event, updated quarterly
  • Donor reports upon request for individuals or schools sponsoring specific events

All spending is documented and published for full accountability.

🔹 Why This Matters

People don’t always remember the facts — but they remember how something made them feel. Events are where our mission comes alive. They turn abstract ideas into lived experiences, and create the emotional momentum we need to keep pushing for dementia prevention and memory protection.

When you donate to the Event Fund, you’re helping Mindroot bring the message to life — one room, one gathering, one story at a time. You’re funding moments that connect people to purpose, and you’re making dementia prevention something people see, feel, and act on.

This isn’t just awareness. It’s memory in motion.
